Casual EXAMINATIONS INVIGILATOR

UTC Portsmouth Support Scale: S1 Currently £13.59 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity for a Casual Examinations Officer  to work in a purpose built STEM learning environment. This role will play a key part in the examinations of the college, supporting the Exams Officer with the day-to-day operation of examinations. An ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible and readily available during main exam periods, have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills, work well as part of a team, be confident and a reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms, be able to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people and have basic IT skills (familiar with the use of email, mobile phone messaging etc.)

The position is casual so working hours are as required to coincide with college external examination periods, which includes traditional summer term months (May/June).

Cover Supervisor

Are you an enthusiastic team player with a passion for supporting students? UTC Portsmouth is looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our Care, Guidance, and Support Team in a state-of-the-art STEM-focused learning environment.

This dynamic role encompasses three key responsibilities:

  • Cover Supervisor

  • Student Mentor

To be successful in this role, you should have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C or above. Strong communication and organizational skills are crucial, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience working with young people is highly desirable. The role demands a patient yet assertive approach, with the ability to handle a variety of situations in a busy school environment.

Position Details:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

  • Term time only plus 5 additional days

  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 2:45 pm
