Students from years 10, 11 and 12 have been taking part in a unique enrichment project this term called Recycle a Cycle.
They have taken donations from local families of bikes that are no longer used and have been refurbishing them with the generous help of local businesses.
Southsea Cycles on Albert Road have offered parts as well as weekly mechanical support. Our employer Partner Apollo Motor Group have then taken the frames and helped students to spray paint them, giving them a new lease of life.
The final element of the project was to find a charity to work with who could get the bikes to new owners who really need them. We are looking forward to welcoming a local charity next week to collect four of the newly restored bikes from us.
