A big part of our annual Progression Week is the mock interview day, where all students from Years 10 and 12 meet one of our Employer Partners with their CV and are put through a series of questions to give them valuable experience of interview situations.
For many students it was the first time being put on the spot to answer questions about projects they had worked on that they were proud of or giving examples of how they work in a team. But they certainly rose to the occasion and really impressed the interviewers with their confidence, maturity and all round skills.
Amy from DSTL told the student at the end of the session; “We have been interviewing graduates recently to join our company and many of the students we have met today have performed much better. Everyone we met with were punctual, polite and well presented. We have been really impressed by the quality of the students at UTC Portsmouth.”
