The college was delighted to welcome a number of particularly distinguished guests through its doors on 18 October, including the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, local Members of Parliament, representatives from industry and universities, the Department for Education, and members of the Royal Navy.
Amongst the guests was the First Sea Lord, Admiral Radakin, who was keen to speak to our students and see the college in action. After addressing the Year 11s in an assembly, he and the other guests broke into small groups to visit lessons and tour the college. They not only saw lessons but also the uniqueness of our Training offer, including a Year 13 Project Pipeline group and a Year 10 Lego challenge.
Reaffirming why our Employer Partners including The Royal Navy are involved with the college, Admiral Radakin said: “You’re very special to us as an employer but you’re very special to the whole nation.
‘We need more young men and women like you who are taking technical subjects because the nation desperately needs more people to have those skills.”
