A modified version of our annual Progression Week took place recently for our Year 10 & 12 students, to help to guide their thoughts and aspiration for after they finish their studies at UTC Portsmouth through a range of activities and talks. We are very grateful to our Employer Partners for their support in delivering many of the talks on offer.
Both year groups had a tutor time talk every day from a different specialist with a STEM career, to offer them insight and inspiration for roles they make like to consider in their future.
They also enjoyed the chance to be on the other side of the recruitment process, by selecting candidates from their CVs to go forward to interview for a fictitious job.
The Year 12 students had specific sessions on degree apprenticeships, whether university is for them, the UCAS process and getting an apprenticeship.
Year 10 had a chance to map the path to their future career as well as use career advice tools to start to form a plan for getting the career of their dreams.
Our thanks to the University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Hampshire Constabulary, L3 Harris and Conrad Manning Racing for their contributions to the success of the week.
