Exciting destinations for first UTC Portsmouth Sixth Form leavers

Exciting destinations await for our first group of Sixth Form leavers, with half of the cohort applying for University and the other half apprenticeship or work.

Founding partner the University of Portsmouth has proved a popular choice with over 30% of these who applied to go to uni opting to go to study there. Of those students who have confirmed their places today, the majority have chosen to study engineering.

Bath University has also been a popular option for our Sixth Formers. Alex A has decided to go there to study Computer Science after achieving top grades in the four A levels he took.

A quarter of those students not opting to go to university have decided to join the Royal Navy after leaving UTC Portsmouth. A number of them have been successful in securing places on the accelerated apprenticeship scheme.

Three students from the year group have been successful in securing advanced apprenticeships in defence and space with Airbus. Huge well done to all of them.

George E's hard work in his extended diploma in engineering has really paid off, earning him a triple distinction in his qualification as well as a higher apprenticeship with BAE Systems in Electrical Engineering.

After following the combined pathway and securing a Distinction star in his extended certificate, Kain has secured a higher apprenticeship at DSTL in Software development.

Warren S has already started his Architectural apprenticeship at Employer Partner Knight Architectural Design, calling into college while taking a break at work to pick up his results.
